Oasis and Manchester City collaborate on new fourth kit

Manchester City this morning released a fourth shirt inspired by the Oasis album Definitely Maybe.
Co-designed by Noel Gallagher – the Oasis star who is reforming the band alongside brother Liam for a series of sell-out shows next year – the shirt will be worn in ‘select European fixtures’, including next week’s Champions League game with Inter.
Definitely Maybe, the album that set Oasis on the road to stardom, was released 30 years ago and Gallagher was delighted the team he supports had agreed to collaborate on a commemorative shirt.
He told City Studios: “It’s a proper honour.
“When the guys from Puma approached us at one of the games, I took about five seconds to agree to it.
“It’s the same colour palette as the cover of Definitely Maybe. I think it’s unique, but it’s definitely striking and I think it looks great.

“When you see people represent your club, it’s important that they look good.
“Definitely Maybe has never lost its magic to me. I just think it’s an amazing snapshot of what we were about.
“With the anniversary, I’ve been listening to it a lot more than I would ever listen to it. You know, it makes me smile. They were great times. Really, really great. I mean, it’s spawned a great football kit. So its legacy lives on.”

Gallagher has seen the transformation at City following their takeover by majority owner Sheikh Mansour.
He added: “I’ve been supporting City for 50 years and the last decade this has been stuff that dreams are made of.
“One of the great days of my life was when we were away at Brighton on the last day of the season. We had to win that game. We were in the dressing room afterwards with the players and Kevin De Bruyne is handing me a beer. How did it get any better than this?
