Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, a former Deputy Minister, Member of Parliament for Assin South, and Member of the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament, has launched a scathing criticism of the government under President John Dramani Mahama for facilitating the inclusion of LGBTQ+ content in the Ghana Education Service (GES)’s teacher’s manual.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ on Wednesday, January 14, Rev. Fordjour noted that the inclusion of LGBTQ+ by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) is a deliberate attempt to dilute Ghana’s rich culture and high moral values.

In his submission, the Assin South lawmaker noted that it was through his interception of the said documents that raised the alarm of what was contained in the teacher’s manual.

“Had I not intercepted these materials, NaCCA would have allowed them to infiltrate our various schools, to further destroy the morals of our children. Even the United States, upon the arrival of Donald Trump, is sanitizing its educational system; cleaning it of any LGBTQ+ materials,” Rev. Fordjour explained.

“I blame President Mahama because the LGBTQ+ agenda is a high-level implementation. This agenda is not implemented by a low-powered person. It is a high-level governmental pressure, and conditionalities, largely due to a certain aid the country is getting from foreign investors,” he added.
