Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Executive Chairman of Jospong Group, has called on leaders to intentionally develop the next generation of strategic thinkers and innovators.

Speaking on day one of the 13th edition of the Jospong Leadership Conference, themed “Building tomorrow’s leaders today,” on Monday January 12, 2026, Dr. Agyepong emphasized the importance of leadership development, citing Psalm 90 verse 1-8.

“Leadership is about responsibility, it’s about preparing the next generation with capacity, strength and passion,” Dr. Agyepong said.

Urging participants to take advantage of the platform to enhance their leadership skills, he said “This conference is a leadership laboratory, a platform for corporate learning, where we discuss strategy, culture, performance, innovation, and people development.”

He further added that “The Next Generation of strategic thinkers, innovators, and managing directors must not emerge accidentally; it must be intentional, and intentionally developed”.

Dr. Agyepong praised the group’s growth from a single printing press in 1995 to a multinational company with impact across 25 African countries and beyond.”

He stressed that leadership development is crucial for navigating changing markets, technologies, and environments. “If we embrace this business, then our group will continue to strive for excellence in countless changing markets, technologies, or environments,” Dr. Agyepong said.

Agyepong expressed gratitude to President John Mahama, government officials, and stakeholders for their support.

“I extend my appreciation to all who have contributed to our growth,” he said. “I thank the entire staff of Jospong Group, private sector partners, government agencies, and district assemblies for their commitment and support.”

Prof. Robert Hinson, a renowned marketing expert, on his part, emphasized the importance of innovation, integrity, and entrepreneurship in driving business success.

Speaking on the topic, “Innovating from within- entrepreneurship and creative leadership”, he stressed that leaders should prioritize integrity, highlighting its role in building trust and promoting sustainability.

Prof. Hinson also underscored the need for innovation, stating, “We need new innovation so we can be sharp. Innovation doesn’t start with five billion dollars. It starts with fresh ideas. Resourcefulness matters more than resources”.

He encouraged entrepreneurs to recognize opportunities, be courageous, and develop their team’s ability to identify gaps in the market.

Prof. Hinson also emphasized the importance of collaboration, saying, “We grow through Partnerships. Nobody does anything alone anymore.” He urged leaders to seek outside input, invest in teams, and embed entrepreneurship into their company culture.
